“Reclaiming the Past”

This image was one of several  we shot of this particular home for our good client Sunlit Architecture (if you get a chance check our their new website). The exteriors of this home were very challenging to say the least. Not only was it ten below, but I was shooting my 4×5 film camera (yes I do know how to use one of those. Shot one for my whole career until about two years ago). Anyway the temperature being as cold as it was froze the gears on the camera so my ability to shift and rise (I know. Technical words) were very limited to say the least. To make a long story short I persevered (a lot of patience and determination goes into my photography, luck is rare in this type of work) and captured the shot you see here. The image is also featured on the cover of the magazine Timber Home Living December 2010 issue. A full spread on the inside showcases the interiors we shot as well as the house styled for Christmas. I am sure all of you long time locals out there will guess the location of the home. Drop me a line if you do!

Looking at this beautiful image, you really get a sense of how cold it is even without knowing your back story! Congrats on making the cover and thanks for sharing.
